Sphere - Flying Cities

Get Schooled in the Latest Update for Sphere - Flying Cities Early Access Ascend to greater heights with higher education and much more

Sphere - Flying Cities, the stratosphere-sailing survival city-builder from publisher Assemble Entertainment and developer Hexagon Sphere Games welcomes today a brand new Early Access update titled, “Age and Education.” The new content introduces the ageing of the floating city’s denizens, as well as a full-fledged education system, meaning higher education (literally) is within grasp for all.

The new life cycles add a realistic element to the sci-fi simulation, ageing citizens through various stages of life, bringing with it all of the triumphs and troubles that come with the passage of time, including birth and death cycles. Similarly, inhabitants of the flying city interested in expanding the population must meet specific reproduction requirements in order to do so. Luckily for the new busy parents, a “Day Care Center” is now also available to construct.

In between those finicky stages of early and late-stage life cycles, denizens can now take part in education programs, allowing skill mastery and development of new skills through the new “Training Center”. Having educated citizens means higher efficiency, better buildings, and more.

The Age and Education update also introduces a reworked energy management system, as well as many new buildings including the training center, day-care center, and energy storage. Find more details about future updates in the updated Roadmap on Steam. Want to know more about the development of this exciting new foray into the skies? More about Sphere - Flying Cities

Far above the crumbling world below, the last of humanity has boarded a massive bio-aircraft powered by a highly futuristic anti-gravity machine that, along with the ship’s citizens, requires exhausting care and maintenance. In this sci-fi survival city-builder, players are tasked with developing a civilization on (literally) cloud nine. Gather resources, construct buildings and shelter, and look after the sensitive ecosystem where food, clean water, and ample healthcare are all needed to keep the city’s inhabitants thriving.

Based on the novel 'Cities in Flight’ by James Blish, Sphere - Flying Cities utilizes a unique mix of strategy, simulation, and survival elements, ensuring there’s no limit to the truly immersive and realistic gameplay scenarios that can be constructed.

Developed by Hexagon Sphere Games and published by Assemble Entertainment, Sphere - Flying Cities is available now on Steam Early Access and GOG for £14.99 / €17.99.
